ABWA Mission Statement

The mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

RCEN Vision Statement

River City Express Network of the American Business Women's Association provides Richmond area businesswomen a unique opportunity to enrich their lives through relationship building, education and professional development.

Proud Code of Conduct

1. All members will serve as goodwill ambassadors for the American Business Women’s Association.

2. Members will not allow their personal beliefs and convictions to interfere with the representation of ABWA’s mission.

3. Members will always treat their member colleagues, guests, vendors and sponsors with honesty, respect, fairness, integrity, responsibility, kindness, and in good faith.

4. Members will maintain compliance with ABWA National, Chapter and Express Network Bylaws.

5. Members will not use their personal power to advance their personal interests.

6. Members will strive for excellence in their professions by maintaining and enhancing their own business knowledge and skills, and by encouraging the professional development of other members.

Serving as a network officer helps you develop leadership and team building skills that directly translate to your business and workplace. The American Business Women's Association has a strong tradition of reaching out to business women of diverse occupations. Since 1949 ABW's principal pursuit has been to help working women find their paths to the top. We support women as they change the world!

Our Committees

In addition to networking and professional development, you can develop your business skills by working as a committee member or project team member. Participation will give you opportunities to practice the skills you already have and learn new skills to add to your resume.

Our membership is diverse in age, industry and career level. They are executive officers, hold administrative and management positions and work as professional, technical and sales experts. About half are small business owners. Fields of expertise include:
